ANIK LE RAY
Anik Le Ray is author and screenwriter. She has been working in the studio of “La Fabriue” that was established by Laguionie from the 90’s. She was the screenwriter of the films of him; A Monkey’s Tale, Black Mor Island, The Painting and Louise by the Shore. Besides feature films she was the screenwriter of the many TV series and short films.

Author and The Nose text it is about the struggle of artistic production and exhaustion of a writer without a nose. The inspiration of this text is biography of Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol and his short story The Nose. I tried to express the inflated, hollow personality in my short movie, with the stopmotion shooting method.
I’m Zanna. I moved to Antalya nine years ago from Kyrgyzstan. I learned Turkish, graduated from fine arts school and finished the stage decoration and costume design department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University first place. I’m interested in Stopmotion. My dream is to grow in puppet design department, where I studied. I am currently studying in the same university and department.

Just an ordinary day at an old mysterious Turkish country house where its residents have an extraordinary way of brewing tea.
Yağmur Altan is an animator and independent filmmaker from Istanbul, and living in London. Currently his full-time focus is on animation technologies such as face tracking, AR by day and he’s directing indie short animated films at nights. The face tracking technology he developed at a start-up company in New York got acquired by Oath in 2016, where he works as a principal designer. He wrote and directed his first animated short film Rabbit Blood during his MFA degree at SVA New York, making its World Premiere at Athens Animfest. Rabbit Blood got nominated and screened at many international film festivals, including the Oscar qualifying Montreal World Film Festival and New Orleans Film Festival. Awards include Best Animation at Istanbul Short Film Festival, Best Editing at Watersprite Film Festival and Award of Excellence at Catalina Film Festival. Yağmur is currently working on his 2nd animated short.

She was born in İstanbul in 1984. She is a graphic design student in MSGSÜ. Her first short animated film is ‘Beyoğlu’s Faces’. Miniature art is her special interest and she uses miniature in her animations as a language.

İlhami Tunç Gençer
Born in 1984, İlhami Tunç Gençer completed his secondary education in 50. Yıl Tahran High School. He later enrolled in the department of graphic design at Haliç University where he carried out works on photography and animation. In a photography contest organized by the University, he was awarded honourable mention, after which he began concentrating on producing animation works that would be presented throughout numerous festivals in the US and Europe. He also won the jury’s special award in Colombia’s young but prestigious film festival, Cinenautas Defilm. Regarding his animation movies, he received laudatory feedbacks from significant directors such as Alejandro Jodorowsky and Brent Green. He wrote automatist texts in the magazines, Peyniraltı and Siber Gnosis and nowadays he is working on a feature-length work.

A lonely man who lives and works at a train station for years, starts question his life and environment after a little mouse encounters his life. The mouse that becomes enemy for stealing his food, is perhaps the only living being who might be his true friend.
He started to study Animation at Dumlupınar University in 2010 and graduated in 2014 with the top degree in the department. In the following time he made his short films “Line”, “Flower”, “Worker”, “Stop”, “Stairs”, “The Station” and he has awards and special screenings with these films in national and international festivals. Presently, he is working in a corporate company as a character animator; also continues to show his success on his independent animation works and short films.

Born in Istanbul, 1981. Graduated from Anadolu University Fine Art Faculty Animation Department in 2004.
First short film was “Talented Mr. Koksal” as graduation project in 2004.
Worked as storyboard artist, cel animator and clean-up artist in cartoon projects.
Later became 3d animator and animation director for Tv commercials.
Living and working in Istanbul since 2005.
Currently while I am working for an Animation studio as a 3d character modeller and attending a master program in Bilgi University FTV (Film And Television) department. I’m taking courses about “screen-writing” “cinematography”, “directing”, “creative psychology” for developing my skills in addition to my animation background.
Up to the present I made my individual short films and participated a lots of international and local film festivals, and I got some awards.

What’s known as the ‘post-modern coup’ that took place in Turkey on February 28th 1997, had permanent effects on a young girl’s mind.
Koray Sevindi lives in Istanbul. He studied engineering at ITU and directing at New York Film Academy. He worked as assistant director in several feature films, shorts, documentaries and commercials. His short films and animations have been screened at more than a hundred international festivals, winning him over twenty awards. His key films include The Head (2014) and Bread (2012).

Elif Boyacioglu (1982) has received her BA in Communication and Design, and MA and Ph.D. in European History from the Bilkent University, Ankara in 2003, 2007 and 2015, respectively. She has been a team member of the Festival on Wheels since 2001. After spending a year at Algonquin College, Ottawa, Canada, studying the basics of animation, she completed her BA in Animation at the Irish School of Animation, BCFE, Dublin, May 2015. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Başkent University.

Pelin Kırca (Atlanta, 1982) lives in Istanbul. She graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at Bilkent University and then acquired her MFA in Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her works encompass graphic and digital design, as well as illustration and video art, and have appeared in various media including art publications, books, and music videos. Her key films include Reconstructing Mayakovsky (2008) and Memento Mori (2014).

An anthropomorphic figure with a head of an elephant stands in front of a mirror in a bathroom. As we sink into deeper and deeper layers of a strange organism that resembles a nervous system and a plant at the same time, the elephant-head character seems to react in a violent and unpredictive way, creating a kind of a choreography, which ends in the vanishing of the character himself.
Since 2005 has worked as an illustrator for various publishers and firms, comic book artist and storyboard artist for various publishers and firms, animator in various studios.

Layka, a female dog/bitch, gets kidnapped and then launched to Space. Choban, the owner, starts a search and ends up in an underground city where he, by chance, embarks on a singing career, which leads him to the ups and downs of stardom. Meanwhile, Layka ends up on a planet inhabited by a mysterious black granny Moira who tailors fate and bends time and space.

A young woman named Etta is spending a solitary evening at her apartment, doing housework, cooking dinner and watching TV. She is turning on different machines, one by one, which fill her apartment with painful noise. On TV Etta sees a film in which Milena lives a beautiful life with Đuro the giant.
Born 1977 in Zagreb, graduated in 2003 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. Exhibited in several groups and solo exhibitions, pursue sculpture, installations, video and photography. Member of HDLU and HZSU. Works as an animator since 2005.

Petra Zlonoga (1982) holds an MA in Graphic Design from the School of Design (2007) and MA in Animated Film and New Media from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (2011). Since 2009 she works as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator.

Herman is a rat who enjoys heavy drinking, loud grind music and chess. He doesn’t care much for cleaning and the disorder in his apartment only makes him feel more at home. One day a very tidy cat who has a weakness for messy macho-men decides to move in. She also brings a vacuum cleaner, a piano, and what’s worse – a collection of classical music records.
Estonian animation director. She started in 2008 as an independent author and since 2011 she runs her own animation studio called Chintis Lundgreni Animatsioonistuudio. She is also a co-founder of Adriatic Animation, Croatia.
NIKOLA TESLAS SECRET LABORATORY

In a hidden lab, after Tesla’s death, tremors caused by passing train, woke the robot. The robot soon becomes aware that he is Tesla’s creation, and in anticipation of his arrival is spending his time watching TV. Due to the life as single, the robot becomes depressed, so when he sees a strange relationship between man and woman on tv, decides to make his life partner. The same problem repeats as when he was created, something just does not work and the female robot doesn’t give signs of life. Finally, when he lost all hope, a twist of event occurs.
Born on February 14, 1975. in Zagreb. In the year 2004 graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, education department, department of multimedia lead by prof. Ladislav Galeta. Commercially works as animator and motion graphic designer. Member of ULUPUH.

Which image is real – the one staring at us from the mirror or the one standing in front of it? In hallways filled with illusions, a simulacrum behind the looking glass, he is trying to find out if he is looking at a stranger or a hidden part of himself.
Ivana Bošnjak (1983) graduated from the Graphics Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and Animation at the University in Volda, Norway. Her graduation film Crossed Sild, made in collaboration with Lea Vidaković, has been screened and awarded at many international festivals. She works as a model maker and animator.
Thomas Johnson (1984) graduated Time Based Media from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff and currently studies at the New Media Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. His puppet performances were shown at several festivals. He works as a model maker and animator.

From 2011 artistic director of the World festival of animated film Animafest Zagreb. He was an artistic consultant for an animated film at HAVC, currently, he is a member of the council for the film of the city of Zagreb.

The film represents an author’s own memory of the dawn of the World War II in Germany. Mrs. Sarika is leaving to a Jewish retirement home, something what should have been a quiet and peaceful end of life, turned into a terror of holocaust and she becomes a victim as well.
Born in 1929; Academician, sculptor, painter, theater and film director and author of animated films. Since 1955 exhibited in numerous group and private exhibitions local and international. Worked as a theater set designer, costume designer, writer and director in puppet theater. In 1956. together with D. Vukotic and N. Kostelac, he established a Studio of Zagreb film and worked there on the scenery for the first film of the new studio, Robot by Dusan Vukotic. Since 1961 he began to create their own works as a writer, designer and director.
Born in 1929, painter. set designer and director. Longtime illustrator of school textbooks, books for youth and children’s picture books. In 1958 he began to work on the animated films in a framework of Zagreb Film. Since then he realized scenographies for over fifty films. In 1963 based on his screenplay he co-directed, along with Z. Grgic, film “Five,” for which he received several international festival awards. A number of films followed in which he acts as director, art director and screenwriter, recognized with numerous awards on festivals worldwide.

There is a world where the Bears live above ground in their cities and the rodents live below in their underground ones in mutual fear and hate. However, Celestine, an apprentice mouse dentist, finds at least momentary common cause with Ernest, a poor street Bear musician, that gets them rejected from both their respective worlds. In spite of this misfortune, the exiles find a growing friendship between themselves as their respective talents flower because of it. Despite this, their quietly profound challenge to the founding prejudices of their worlds cannot be ignored as the authorities track them down.
Stéphane Aubier (1964) is a Belgian film director and screenwriter. In 2009, he wrote and directed the animated film A Town Called Panic along with Vincent Patar. It premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and was the first stop-motion film to be screened at the festival.

Louise, an old lady, finds herself stranded in a seaside resort after the last train of the holiday season has left the station. But far from panicking, the fearless Louise decides to stay, no matter what awaits her. And the worst does await her: foul weather, heavy rains, high tides. Under such circumstances, will this new Robinson achieve her goal and manage to survive amidst the raging elements?
The festival is arranged, this year, in collaboration with Institute of Française with the motto of “Picturing better days”. The guests of honor of the festival are the famous French animator Jean François Laguionie and writer Anik Le Ray. This year’s most important section is Animators Festival Film Competition for the national short films.
The opening will be with the award ceremony and the screening of the awarded films. The sections of the festival are the Feature Film Screenings of Laguionie (Louise en Hiver/Louise by the Shore) and Black Mor Island, a Short Film Section of him and Talk, Short Films from ASIFA Croatia, Talk with Anik Le Ray, screening of Ernest&Celestine and the Tribute. The venues of the festival are Institute of Française/Taksim nd KargaArt/Kadıköy

Kid, a 15-year-old hard laborer, steals a map that promises to reveal the location of the notorious pirate Black Mor’s treasure. Together with his crew — MacGregor, Beanpole, Taka and Jim the monkey — Kid procures a vessel and sets out to sea.
Competition open for Turkish animation films, they are made after the 1st of January 2016.

Award Ceremony: 16th of November 2018 Friday.
A film which receives us after the deadline, aren’t accepted by the festival committee.
- There is no application fee.
- The entry form is had to fill completely and sent with film copy.
- One entry form is had to fill for every film.
- Sending cost is paid by the competitor.
- Attendance can join with any number of films. Separate attendances should be made for each film.
- The film that takes place in the competition must belong to attended person or group. If it’s proved that the film doesn’t belong to an attended person or group it will be disqualified automatically.
- It is free to use film materials like film, video, photograph.
- Any visual effect and animation technic can be used. Any technics like 2D cartoon animation, computer-aided 3D animation, stop motion animation and/or any optic, chemical, physical, digital interferences on the visual film can be made.
- The film can either include a certain story, characters, dialogs or not. Aesthetic and style can be chosen freely.
- Canlandıranlar Animation Festival has the right to show on television, theater, the internet etc. for publicity purposes, up to 10% of the running time of the film.
How to Win?
- There will be a pre-elimination to see if the film is appropriate to the competition conditions.
- Pre-selection results will announce on the 9th of November on Friday.
- The winners will be chosen by a jury but won’t be announced until the ceremony.
- Awards are described in Best Film, Best Script and Best Technic sections.
- If the jury decides no prize worthy film, the jury can don’t make to award.
- If the jury want can make to a special jury award.
